So, yeah, it's been kind of unintentionally deep around here lately. Sorry about that. Especially since it hasn't been all soul-searching and heart-bearing at home, I promise you that.
This past weekend we hosted our housewarming party, which was loads of fun. So fun, in fact, I didn't take a single picture before, during or after. I was slightly worried about accommodating all 35ish people who came. Our house is fun, and we love it, but it's not quite as big as our last one. My worries were for nothing, though. The flow from inside to outside was great, and I didn't feel like anyone was crammed into a corner or being forced to socialize in the bathroom. There was also much beer. Success all around!
Additionally, Kyle was a big hit at the party. At least I think he was. I hardly saw him, that mingling fool.
Speaking of Kyle, he's getting much better at his belly scooting. He's still dragging that fat belly across the floor as he moves, but he's much quicker about it. He shoots across the floor before I have a chance to move cords and dust bunnies out of his way, and I predict this new development of his is going to make it much harder for me to be lazy. Damn.
Although I don't have pictures of our party, I do have pictures of Kyle. SHOCK!
Babies in muscle tees! The new trend! Also, the only way I could get him to enjoy this particular photo shoot was to give him two pacifiers simultaneously. He's a pacifier whore. Also, this photo is from the dusty Rocking Chair Series on flickr, updated today!
Another Rocking Chair Series installment, this time with extra WOE!
Close up of the cuteness!
Kyle is OBVIOUSLY amused and Mike is OBVIOUSLY not amused.
A random photo from about a month ago I just found. I probably said "awwww" much louder and longer than you are right now.
Does YOUR heart hurt? Just mine? Odd. Also, this photo captures his eye color the best I've seen. His eyes are brown, yeah, I'm pretty sure, except they're kind of not brown. I'm sure they'll get browner, but I like having a photo of the color they are right now.
Keeping. It. Real.

What a cutie! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I love his smile!

I am a long time lurker (I hate that work, it makes me feel like I'm lurking in your bushes or something, which I assure you, I am not!) and I rarely comment but I've got to tell you, Kyle is looking SO much like you! I think I remember you saying he looks like Mike, which he does, but I'm seeing so much of you in these pictures. Either way, he's freaking adorable!

He and Wombat are the world's cutest Internet babies. I bet they'll be fast friends, the pair of monkeys!

I was moved and touched and impressed and all kinds of good things by your words words words here lately, but currently I am just in love with that picture of Kyle, amused, and Mike, not amused. Hi-la-ri-ous!

Your little guy is so cute! Where are the boy + mommy pictures? Although, I can understand wanting to post the pictures of your two boys--they're quite a pair!
Question for you regarding housewarming parties: Any advice you'd care to share? Anything you would've done differently, in retrospect? The reason I ask is that my husband and I are having our own housewarming party in a month, and since this is our first home, I have no real idea of what to expect, so any input would be greatly appreciated! Happy weekend to you.

Shauna, that's so interesting. We don't hear that a lot, but it always
fascinates me what people think. I think it's the features you're drawn to.
I think he has Mike's eyes but my mouth.
