Katy

Totally just sent that cheeseburger one to my husband--he needs to make that for me.

Heather

Let's see....

Christmas Eve: my mom's family spends all day making tamales, and then we add beans and rice.

Christmas Day: My mom is making steak and baked potatoes. I am BUYING an apple pie.

Day after Christmas: My parents are coming over, since we'll have the kids that day. I *think* that we are going to have a pork roast with roasted bell peppers and potatoes, and probably asparagus or something equally green.

I would like to add that I am not nearly as culinarily gifted, so I am not the 100% chef in ANY of these events. :(

steff

hurry up with that breakfast recipe! i'm going to the store tomorrow! :-)

Christmas Eve - Mom's making her famous spaghetti and meatballs.

Christmas Morning - maybe your breakfast casserole
Christmas Dinner - ham, cheesy potatoes, asparagus, sweet potatoes, corn, rolls.

barbetti

I made the monkey muffins last week! They were delicious!

On Christmas, we're having junk food and beer pong. 1. Because we are celebrating alone and 2. Because we are CHEAP and CLASSY.

april

We are doing breakfast; my MIL is bringing a quiche-like casserole, and I'm making hashbrown casserole, bacon, biscuits and gravy, fruit and overnight french toast (Paula Dean's recipe).

Holly

I wish someone would be at my house right now preparing those chipotle pork cheeseburgers so they were ready when I got home from work. A chipotle fairy, maybe? :)
We're doing a Mexican themed Christmas -- my mom is making tamales, beans, and rice -- but I'm in charge of the Tomatillo Salsa, Egg Casserole in the AM, dessert (TBD), Cranberry Margaritas, and Cinnamon Rolls. Now that I think about it, a Cranberry Margarita fairy would also be nice.

Hillary

A full pan of Monkey Bread is part of our family tradition for Christmas morning. My mom always made it, and now I do.

slynnro

I swear, I want to have a baby just so I can force people to come to ME for Xmas.

Jennie

Funny enough, no one is going to be with us Christmas Day. The parents are going to other siblings, but we're kind of excited about that. Then, everyone will be here the next day.

If I can avoid it, I'd like to never travel for Christmas again.

Natalie

Is the breakfast casserole my recipe? B/c that is just yum-o.

Traveling is the pits, says the lady who just drove 14 hours in 2 days, and is getting back in the car tomorrow night for 5 more hours.

Amanda

Christmas Morning: breakfast casserole(sausage, egg, cheese, bread, etc etc) & apricot bread with icing on top

Christmas Dinner (aka 3 or 4p): Full on turkey dinner

The Day After is generally mexican food of some sort.

In Between--probably 500lbs of pie or candy or fudge or whatever else my mom has made or a relative has brought in.

I really really want to try those cheeseburgers!

Alicia Vosburg

We have Christmas eve with Brandon's father's family, who knows what we will eat.

Christmas morning I am making carmelly (not a word) monkey bread and mimosas

Christmas lunch is at Brandon's grandpa's house with traditional foods like turkey and such

Christmas night is with my family which means, tamales, enchiladas, and sweet treats made by me. Pralines, turtles, peanut brittle and sopapilla cheesecake.....oh so noms

Jane

Christmas Dinner at my in-laws will be meatballs, hashbrown bake, spinach-pear salad, lots of cookies. Christmas brunch at our house: Egg bake & cinnamon rolls. Christmas supper at my parents: lasagna with Italian Bacon-Spinach salad. The day after Christmas at our house with the in-laws: Cranberry Pork Roast with mashed potatoes.

Oh, and lots of cookies and treats mixed in there

HollyLynne

We're hosting Xmas day dinner at our house and I'm beside myself w/ excitement. My parents are bringing a Honeybaked Ham (I'm vegetarian but nobody else is) and I'm doing Champ Potatoes, Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, Corn, Smitten Kitchen's Cream Biscuits and a chopped salad. Boy's mom is bringing Manicotti (standard Italian Xmas fare) and I'm doing a cookie buffet for dessert (Smitten Kitchen's Toffee Cookies, Peppermint Brownie Bites, Russian Tea Cakes and Pecan Tarts).
Xmas eve (when my family traditionally opens presents) will be at my parents' house w/ cheese and crackers type things and Xmas morning will be at my BIL's house (I'm bringing my Gma's raisin bread).
I have been mixing and freezing things in preparation all week!

Kristie

Mimosas! I'll be there for sure.

I made carmel popcorn, but I ate most of it. *turns red*

Post Of The Day

  • Secrets
You’re only as unique as the secrets you keep. Go do something good. Go do something evil. In solitude and love, it’s beyond good and evil. Go do these things and tell no one. Let them quicken the throb of your heart and the pace of your blood and, as you become your own poem, watch who you become. People will see it in your eyes—not the content of your secrets—but the fact that you have secrets, that you know and have seen secret things. They will love you and hate you, want to possess and destroy you.
