One of my 2010 goals (again: see sidebar as the list keeps growing) is to find art for our walls. We have a small house, but prints are one thing I never think to pick up and display. Until I discovered Etsy, of course.
Here are a few of the things I hope to buy this year and find a place for in our home.
This would be for Kyle's room, but in chocolate not pink. {Found at the Perideau Design's Etsy shop for $55}
I like this for our kitchen, where I can see it while I cook or do the dishes. {Found at the Valentina Design Etsy shop, $15}
I love displaying this just as it is, in our bedroom (the one place I'm determined to turn into a more peaceful place). {From Hijirik's Etsy shop, $25}
We have an upstairs bath that this might look great in. {From Rawar Letter Press' Etsy shop, $22}
I love this, it's a print/collage, but I'm not sure there's anywhere I could hang it without making Mike cry on a daily basis. We'll see. {Shelby Healey's Etsy shop, $85}
I'm not sure why I like this one so much, as it's a little reminiscient of the movie The Birds, but something about the title (To the Moon) or the colors and fading. {Eyeful's Etsy shop, $30}
I love everything in this Etsy shop. The colors and shapes, just fun. {Jellybean's shop, $15}
I like this for above our hampers, a reminder that although the BANE OF MY EXISTENCE, laundry can be pretty too. {Suspect Shoppe, $28}
Apparently I have a thing for bikes, which I can't explain even if I tried. {One Step Beyond 70's shop, $25}

Also, once a week or so, Kerri puts up a Print of the Week at Style Lush. She's got an incredible eye and is way better suited to give art advice (obviously), so check there if you're now inspired.

These are so cute! I like the first two especially.

Ooooh, I love posters with phrases! I don't know if it's just me, but it looks like the link for Rawar actually goes to Hijirik's shop. Thanks for the inspiration!

Am now IN LOVE with everything in Jellybean's etsy shop. OMG.

Ooo--I like the "To the Moon" one a lot too. I am looking for some big art that isn't too spendy to go over my mantel, so if you happen upon some let me know!
I love jellybeans' stuff too. There used to be some prints of two big trees that were different colors (say, blue and yellow) and then a smaller tree that overlapped between them that was a combination of the "parent" tree colors (green). I don't see them in the shop now, so maybe she's out of them. Anyway, I asked her a couple months or so if she'd be interested in doing a custom one with four trees (two parents, two kids) and she said she'd think about it and get back to me after the holiday madness. I had forgotten about that--now I look forward to hearing from her again!
Yay etsy!

I like the one for the laundry hamper...that would look super cute in a little girl's room, too...you know, if I have one of those.
